Volunteers are our lifeblood. They facilitate peer-to-peer meetings, help coordinate events and offer their unique skills to help with tech, fundraising and creative projects to maintain and grow our outreach to women seeking sobriety. Meeting facilitators, assistants, techs
Certified facilitator (CF) — Leads online and in-person meetings
Minimum requirements:
At least one year of continuous sobriety
A thorough knowledge of the New Life Program
Familiarity with Turnabout, Goodbye Hangovers, Hello Life, or the Beginner’s Collection, and both websites — wfsonline.org and womenforsobriety.org
In-person meeting CFs must:
Commit to a minimum of six months of weekly meetings to allow the group time to develop.
Send 100% of group donations to WFS on a regular basis (this is used for literature, supplies, outreach.)
Obtain a rent-free meeting space.
Correspond with prospective meeting attendees by email and telephone.
Online meeting assistant (OMA) — Provides technical support at meetings
Minimum requirements:
At least six months of continuous sobriety.
An understanding of the New Life Program.
Actively participate in online or regional meetings.
Familiarity with: Turnabout, Goodbye Hangovers, Hello Life, or Beginner’s Collection.
Meeting tech — Provides technical support at meetings
Minimum requirements:
Attest to having maintained three months of continuous sobriety.
Demonstrate an understanding of the New Life Program and be an active participant in online or regional meetings.
(Meeting techs may not serve as substitutes for CFs, or lead a meeting.)
4C meeting mentors team
Provides guidance and support to newly trained certified facilitators, meeting assistants, and meeting techs as they begin serving in meetings. By sharing experience, offering feedback, answering questions, and encouraging continued learning, our meeting mentors help our newer volunteers strengthen their skills and become confident contributors to the wellness and growth of the WFS community.

Teams
Teams focus on fundraising, events planning, outreach at public events, communications, webinar development, meeting facilitator support, website and social media development and more. Sign up!
Advancement team — Identifies and develops fundraising opportunities and coordinates event-planning.
Facilitator team — Supports and develops in-person and online meetings, working to improve the quality and increase availability.
Information Technology team — Develops, manages and supports online content, engagement and systems, including greeters, community care and social media.
Materials team — Develops and manages printed products for public sale as well as printed communications for internal use.
Outreach team — Participates in local, regional, national, and international recovery events and conferences as attendees or presenters.
Volunteer empowerment team — Supports volunteer development, training, and recognition for new and existing volunteers.
